Also, I.m looking to set up a small aquaponics system near Rivas< Nicaragua, but so far haven't been able to find any connections in Nicaragua, although have heard there is work (or was?) being done at both universities. I don't speak Spanish very well, and haven't found any connections in you directory, except a SJDS hotel, and a CIA/Honduran video.

You are right it is very hard to find information on hydroponics or aquaponics in Nicaragua. The only contact/option/lead I have is this one: http://www.morningstarfishermen.org. They have a PDF document called Mission Opportunity that you can see at http://www.morningstarfishermen.org/misc/Nicaragua2009.pdf. You will find inside an email address. I would definitively contact them about the information you are searching!

Your “Hydroponics Aquaponics Monster Directory” has been a awesome source of info for me and has helped me in my quest to do the same .
What started out as just a chat with a friend , Ended up with me taking on a new hobby that has taken over my life , And has now ended up taking up most of my wakeing hours
Like yourself i seen a bigger picture and have since gone on to do something about it , It’s very early stages for me and somewhat complicated , But i plan on doing as much as i can to help others get involved in Hydroponics and to try and use it to help uthers less fortunate
